This year’s Newspaper class is full of a variety of personalities. Starting out we have our senior Web Editor Emily Saul and our senior Copy Editor Grace Mersch. Saul is a third-year returner, and Mersch is a second-year returner. Both Mersch and Saul love the freedom of being able to write about topics they really care about. Mersch really likes to be able to grow as a writer with topics she enjoys, and she also learned how to drive over the summer. Saul loves to hang out with her friends, cheer and do gymnastics.

Next is seniors Emily Betts and Raegan Lewis. They are both returners from last year. Both love spending time with their friends and boyfriends. Betts really enjoys painting and listening to music, while Lewis enjoys watching TikToks and shows on Netflix. Betts is also the keeper of our Instagram page. Lewis spends her Friday nights cheering for the Norwood Indians football team.

We also have two more seniors: Dillon Jones and Brayden Mannin. Both are part of the Newspaper staff for their first year. Both Jones and Manning spent most of their summer working. Manning also went on a family vacation with Betts to Anna Marie Island, Florida.  They both enjoy playing basketball, as well as watching it.

Lastly, we have juniors Aurey Barrios and Summer Ward and sophomore Teresa Zhang. Zhang is the print editor for The Mirror. Ward is the keeper of our Twitter page. Barrios, Ward and Zhang all did fun things over the summer. Barrios went tubing, Zhang went hiking and Ward went on a huge family vacation to St. Pete Beach, Florida. Zhang enjoys talking to her friends, reading and catching up on her favorite movies and tv shows.

When asked what she likes about Newspaper, Zhang said, ”I like how Newspaper’s paced; I don’t feel rushed to get everything finished before the deadline.“

Ward said she ”really enjoys how everyone is having fun and how positive the environment is.”
