On Feb. 6, screenshots surfaced of a series of deleted tweets dating from July 14 to July 16 from Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. The tweets revealed the congresswoman’s support of the conspiracy theory that Republican senator and former 2016 presidential candidate, Ted Cruz, is the Zodiac Killer.
In these tweets, Greene, a prolific QAnon retweeter and supporter, claimed Cruz, born in 1970, got his first taste for murder when the then 15-year-old Cruz first saw the film Toy Story (1995) in 1958. Confused? So is everyone else. Cruz, Greene claimed, was inspired by the “clear and blatant leftist propaganda” of the film to kill the 37 people targeted by the Zodiac Killer throughout the 1960s and 1970s.
Greene asserted those 37 people were targeted by Cruz specifically because of their role as “the last beacons of conservative ideals in communist Hollywood California” during the governorship of Ronald Reagan.
These tweets appear to be original compositions of Greene, as no other theory of similar caliber as those found in the congresswoman’s deleted tweets have been found on the internet.
