Norwood is well into the winter sports season, and while this season has consisted of many cancellations, postponement and sudden new rules for all teams, it still has been filled with excitement and victory.
The boys varsity basketball team currently stands at fifth in the Miami Valley Conference, with a record of 4-9, most recently claiming victory against the Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions on Jan. 19. The team hosts North College Hill this Friday on senior night for the cheerleading team.
The girls varsity basketball team is repeating its usual success this season. They are ranked third in the Miami Valley Conference, holding a 7-3 record. The Lady Indians had a disappointing loss on Jan. 16 against Cincinnati Country Day, who are currently maintaining the top spot in the conference. The girls travel to Wyoming High School tonight, looking for a win against the Cowboys.
The boys bowling team is also standing at third in the conference, with a 5-6 record.
The girls bowling team is occupying fourth in the MVC, with a 4-6 record. The girls celebrated seniors Arielle Gladish and Reagan Campbell last night for senior night, bowling against McNicholas High School. Both of the bowling teams are searching for another victory as they host Wyoming High School tonight at 4 p.m.
While all athletes have been having a stressful season, as they deal with the possibility of it being cut short at any moment, it’s clear this situation isn’t taking away from their skills.
